In September 2003, JapaneseGeta.com visited The Kiri Museum in Kitakata in Fukushima Prefecture. Kiri is Japanese for Paulownia wood, which is used for the best geta. It is a very light and strong hardwood. Read the story.

A day in Morioka

From May 9, 2002 through May 20, I toured Japan. Although most of my activities centered around Tokyo, I had a Japan Rail pass, and also visited Kyoto and Morioka.
